We often ...You raise come interesting points David. We often hear about the carbon footprint argument too and how drinking tap water isn't adding to the carbon footprint. But how did those pipes get there in the first place and what is happening as they are being replaced. Where are the pipes manufactured, how are they transported, and how are they placed in the ground. We also often hear how local bottled water is more carbon footprint friendly. But often the bottles are imported from the other side of the world and then when filled also often shipped back there. Local transportation can be less carbon footprint friendly than international transportation. And where does the chlorine come from to treat the tap water, and where are the parts that make up the water treatment plant manufactured and transported form, and what happens when the source of all that water becomes contaminated, as does happen. Bottles and many plastics are also recyclable. No, bottled water is the only way and we should all switch to bottled water and cease replacing those pipes and forever digging up the ground creating traffic jams and further carbon congestion. You are welcome to drop into our water shop whenever is Auckland. Cheers, MarkMarkwww.aquadeli.co.nznoreply@blogger.com
