Big numbers for US soft drinks

The just published American Beverage Association 2011 Review contains some big numbers for the US non-alcoholic beverage industry:

• $118.9 billion direct economic impact
• 227,000 jobs
• $37.1 billion overall tax contribution
• $872 million charity contribution
• 88% fewer beverage calories in schools since 2004
• 21% fewer beverage calories overall from 1998 to 2008.
