World economy shapes up

The best summary I have ever seen for global economic growth is published by The Economist magazine. Its latest update on 21st September offered a number of key insights.

World-GDP

• Having recovered to its former average rate of 4% in 2010, global economic growth has progressively fallen to nearer 2%.

• Nevertheless, the second quarter of 2013 saw an improvement to 2.4%, because of strengthening in the richer countries.

• Since 2009 China has contributed over one third of global economic growth and other emerging economies 40%.
